Our First Episode!
Welcome to our website and subsequent first blog post! We are so excited to finally get this podcast out there. The Tali Mark started from a sheet of paper. I (me being Tali) was in class and wanted to see how sexually accomplished I was by writing every kink I could think of and seeing how many I had done. I wrote nearly 50 kinks and had only tried around 40% of them, which is clearly unacceptable for my standards. This list is featured to the left, and is the original paper that started it all.
I went home and told Jordyn about it, and I suggested we try each of them–or at least try what we could. This was in my last year of college, and since my desired career field is film, most of our conversations at the time were about my professional career. With that on our minds, Jordyn suggested I start a podcast about the list. Being a person that loves to talk about the risqué, I loved the idea. We talked about what to name the podcast and how it would work endlessly for the next couple days. While I came up with the format and premise, Jordyn proudly announced that the perfect name for the podcast would be the Tali mark.
When I introduce myself to someone, I have always said “Tali, like a tally mark,” and since Jordyn has heard that throughout the last five years of our relationship, it was an undeniably perfect fit. From there, I asked all my friends and strangers I would meet if they wanted to come on my podcast. Though many people were hesitant to share, we did get a couple of people that agreed. For the next year, we recorded episodes intermittently and have finally found an editor that was willing to take that footage and make it usable.
That’s what’s led us to this point: a year of planning, recording, and having awkward exchanges with strangers has finally all been for a reason. Jordyn and I have always done projects at home for fun, as Jordyn isn’t keen on watching movies or TV, we fill our time with these “side-hustles” (that earn no money, so it’s not really a hustle). We hope that you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed making it for you. As the show grows, I can see us giving relationship or sex advice, or expanding our scope to include episodes on drugs or alcohol. We can’t wait to see how the response is so make sure you tune in every Sunday!
